Resveratrol Supplements

There is no easier way to get your in take of resveratrol then with resveratrol supplements. Scientist believe that the secret to the “French Paradox” is a substance called resveratrol which is found in wines due to its presence in the skin of grapes. After much study it was concluded that one would have to consume thousands of glasses of wine a day to get any of the benefits from resveratrol. This is simply unrealistic so the easier way to get any of the benefits is to take resveratrol supplements.

In this 60 minutes clip Babara Walters interviews Dr David Sinclair on how these new resveratrol supplements seek out a gene in our body called ZRT1. This gene has the penitential to reset the speed at which our cells age.

Dr Sinclair stated in the same interview that he was taking 320 mg a day so many people decided that this was the correct amount but this is not necessarily the best approach as everyone is different so our best advise is to take a scientific approach and start out small and see how you feel.

Resveratrol Supplements – Dosage

A low amount would be considered 100 mg per day, stick to this for a week or two and then depending on how you feel slowly increase the dosage. If you get to a point to where you notice any side effects which we have already discussed just reduce the dosage as you have more than likely hit your saturation point, and should hold off on any more resveratrol supplements.

Resveratrol is a naturally produced stilbenoid, which can be found in certain plants such as Japanese knotweed, spruce, eucalyptus, Lily and pine. It is also found in a large number of foods such as cranberries, blueberries, peanuts, lingonberries, blueberries, partridgeberries, and many others. The highest concentrations of resveratrol are found in the skin of grapes that are traditionally used to make wine. Researchers have found that resveratrol has many health benefits and can help to cure or prevent various types of diseases. Because of this, it has become very popular and many people choose to add it to their daily nutritional diet through the use of resveratrol supplements.

One of those particular areas where resveratrol supplements have proved to be very beneficial is in those people who may suffer from osteoporosis. This is a type of disease that affects the bones, making them weak and fragile. It significantly increases the risk of fracture to the individuals bones. This occurs because the bone density is severely reduced, and is practically porous. Osteoporosis means porous bones, and it occurs when there is disruption to the micro architecture of the bone, and with the quantity and types of proteins being altered.

Research into the benefits of resveratrol supplements has found that it has the potential to help prevent the onset of osteoporosis. The research concluded that bone mass atrophy could be reduced through the use of resveratrol supplements, because of resveratrol’s molecular compound which makes it a phytoestrogen, which has the ability to bind to and turn on the estrogen receptors. The study that was done was performed on non human species. It instead utilized cell cultures as well as specially bred rats that were prone to bone atrophy. The data collected from the cell cultures and rats showed that treatment with resveratrol supplements has produced a positive outcome in regards to bone forming activities

Resveratrol Supplements – How Resveratrol Works

The process by which resveratrol works, is by its ability to turn off those genes that are involved in bone decay, and instead activate the genes that are responsible for bone formation. This process of conversion increased the number of osteoblasts, which are the bone forming cells, and reduced the formation of cells that destroyed the bone called osteoclasts. This change in balance showed an increase in the levels of bone mineral and structural proteins, making the bones become stronger. These positive effects are what make resveratrol supplements the better alternative to other hormone treatments. Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) has been shown that it can have a negative side effect by increasing the patient’s risk of developing cancer. However, the use of resveratrol will also help to prevent the risk of cancer developing. This is because resveratrol has been found to activate the FOXO3A, which is a protein that suppresses the growth of tumors.

This makes the use of resveratrol supplements a very effective method of treatment, as it combines two positive effects; the first being the reduction in bone decay, replacing it with the promotion of bone growth, and secondly its ability to suppress any development of cancer. However, it is important to note that the results found, although positive, were carried out in a controlled laboratory environment utilizing non-human specimens. The implications are very encouraging, but there is still more research that is being carried out, with the involvement of humans, before the actual efficacy of the treatments can be considered conclusive.

Resveratrol supplements have received a lot of attention from the media, with many different manufacturers offering a wide variety of resveratrol products. In most cases, you will find that it comes in the form of capsules that are administered orally. It is advisable that before anyone starts taking these supplements, they should consult with their local doctor. This is particularly important if they are already on another type of medication, or if they are suffering from any medical conditions, or are pregnant. It is also important to understand that different manufacturers would have different ingredients or other compounds within the supplement. For this reason, it is important that you look carefully at the particular supplement you are going to purchase.

There are a number of points that you need to take into consideration when looking at the various resveratrol supplements. Firstly, the dosage or the amount of actual resveratrol contained per capsule should not be a major factor in your choice. The reason is that research has shown that low doses of resveratrol supplements can be equally as effective in maintaining a healthy body without causing any negative side effects. This means that looking for resveratrol supplements that have the highest concentration of resveratrol may not necessarily be better, nor would they necessarily provide more benefits. In fact, like with any medicine, too much can lead to other complications, as well as have a negative effect on your health.

The second point that needs to be considered is how the resveratrol supplements are actually manufactured. The process of manufacturing resveratrol has to be done under controlled conditions. This is because resveratrol has a particularly high sensitivity to oxygen, and any excessive exposure will cause oxidation and its breakdown. If this occurs, it will severely reduce the overall effectiveness of the resveratrol supplements. This is why knowing which kind of method was utilized during the process will allow you to determine the efficacy of the supplement.

The last point to take into consideration is the price of the resveratrol supplements. It is important that you get what you pay for, and for this reason, it is important to make sure that any brand of resveratrol supplements deliver exactly what they advertise. If you choose your product by price, then you will be letting yourself down, as this is not an indication of the products quality. You need to look through the different types and see which products have a good balance between quality and quantity. You should be very cautious when it comes to any off-the-shelf resveratrol supplements, as they are often the ones which have the least quantity and quality of resveratrol. Instead, you should focus on those resveratrol supplements that have been approved by health or government regulators. Thanks for reading about resveratrol supplements.
