At first thought only to be found in the skin of grapes, resveratrol has been found in about seventy-two different species of plants, including various berries and even peanuts. The great thing about this is that it gives individuals a multitude of choices on obtaining red wine without having to consume alcohol. Trying to consume alcohol in order to get a dose of resveratrol leads to dealing with the side effects that are associated with excessive or long-term intake of alcohol. It is believed that the amount of resveratrol found in wine is enough to negate the effects brought on by alcohol, which are treatable by resveratrol. Basically the resveratrol and alcohol negate each other out making a glass of wine completely non-beneficial when trying to obtain a dose of resveratrol.
