In 1991, the French Paradox, was published proposing the benefits of wine, which naturally contains resveratrol.  From white to red, chardonnay to pinot grigio, they all have resveratrol, merlot included.  This is consistent with the fact that resveratrol is found in the skin of all grapes.  Regardless of your favorite variety or vintage, it is recommended to take a resveratrol supplement opposed to wine.  This will ensure the proper amount of resveratrol without the negative side effects of alcohol.
